Zimmer tosses two-hitter, Iowa-Grant beat Riverdale 1-0

Iowa-Grant’s Everett Zimmer led off the game with a double in the bottom of the first inning and later scored on Brock Hinderman’s sacrifice fly which was all the scoring the Panthers needed as Zimmer twohit Riverdale on the mound to win 1- 0 at Jinkins Field in Livingston on Tuesday afternoon.

Neither team committed an error in the ball game. The Panthers had six hits on the afternoon. Zimmer pitched all seven innings allowing only the two hits to Riverdale’s Bevyn Dennis and Ethan Kagel. He struck out four and walked seven batters.

Zimmer also led his team at the plate going 3×3. Sam Lundell had two hits, while Treyton Loeffelholz had the other.

Iowa-Grant is now 13-5 for the season. Their upcoming games include a game at Shullsburg on Thursday, May 14, at Southwestern on Friday, May 15, and home versus Cuba City on Monday, May 18.
