The Arena Historians will hold its April monthly meeting on Monday, April 20th at 6:30 p.m. On that evening, we will remember and pay tribute to those who have recently passed away from the Arena community. The meeting, which is free to the general public, will be held at the Arena Diner (formerly Grandma Mary’s, in the Brisbane Hall section of the building), 175 US Hwy 14, Arena, WI. A live stream of the meeting via Zoom (see attached link) will be available for those who cannot attend in person. The annual Spring Rummage Sale at the United Methodist Church in Dodgeville will be held Friday, April 24 from 8-4 p.m. and Saturday, April25 from 8-noon. The bake sale is only on Saturday. There will be a “Bag Sale” on Saturday from 10-noon. There will be treasures of many kinds for the home and clothing in adult-children sizes.

Otter Creek Lutheran Church, located between Dodgeville and Highland at the intersectinos of County Roads Q and P will be holding its annual Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, May 3 serving 8:00 a.m. to noon. Farm fresh pork sausage, pancakes, beverages and pastries will be served.

Spring is upon us and it’s time for our Spring clean-up and meeting at the Hyde Chapel!

Free electronics recycling drive April 18 – Electronics will be collected April 18 from 9 a.m. to noon at Soldiers Memorial Park parking lot near the tennis courts. Computers, laptops, printers, landline and cell phones, televisions and microwaves are among the items accepted. Vacuum cleaners, box fans, stereo systems and speakers, calculators and cameras will also be collected for recycling. No refrigerators, washers, dryers, air conditioners, stoves or dishwashers will be accepted.
Mineral Point will be featured on an upcoming episode of Discover Wisconsin. It will air on Sunday, April 19, at 5:30 p.m. on WKOW and at varying times April 18 and 19 on other affiliates that carry the show. It is also streaming now.
The Mineral Point Chamber of Commerce and Mineral Point Tourism Commission partnered for the episode titled Mineral Point: Rooted in Land, Crafted by Hand. It features Mineral Point’s food, art and events and will be broadcast across the upper Great Lakes region.
The Southwest Wisconsin Cornish Society will hold its annual meeting and potluck May 3 at noon at the United Church of Christ in Mineral Point. Please bring a dish to pass and your own table setting and beverage. The society raises awareness of the influence of early Cornish immigrants and preserves Cornish heritage.
A Mens Bible Study will meet every Tues morning at 9:30 a.m. at the home of Norm Johnson, 908 Fountain Street in Mineral Point. We represent no particular religion and only work with the King James version of the Bible. All are invited to attend to attend a wonderful time conversing and answering questions anyone has.
