Jordan Stanton pitched seven innings of no-hit ball for the Dodgeville Knights Saturday before Jake Athey singled for the Ridgeway Cardinals.
Hunter De Voss also singled for the Cards before Stanton ended the inning with his 16th strikeout.
Jakob Kastenholz came on to complete the shutout with a scoreless ninth as the Knights handed the Cardinals an 8-0 loss in the Western Section opener for both teams.
Katenholz recorded a strikeout for 18 punchouts for the night.
Trenton Reddell got the first Knights hit with a single in the third. The Knights then went on to plate two in the fourth and put the game away with six runs in the fifth.
Aiden Murphy then shut out the Knights the rest of the way, striking out six in four frames of relief.
Hunter De Voss started for the Cardinals and struck out four. Singles by Grant Hying and Jack Tarrell and a triple by Grant Roh contributed to the big frame. Two walks and two errors helped the Knights to their six runs.
Roh tripled and Maddox Schuler doubled for extra base hits for the nights. Hying, Ty Palzkill, Tarrell and Reddell all had singles.
The Knights are at Pine Bluff/Mount Horeb Sunday while Ridgeway hosts Belleville.
