St. Pat’s Day a lot of fun

Dear Editor,

Traditional while exceptional. Corned beef – flavorful, thick-sliced yet fork-tender. Cabbage, mashed potatoes, and carrot coins. (A second choice of turkey and stuffing.) An Irish Pub if you were so inclined. Shamrock shakes and tempting homemade desserts. Folks playing euchre. A raffle and baked goods for sale. All wrapped up in a delightfully decorated hall.

Topped off with friendly and welcoming service by friends, neighbors, and those you have yet to meet. What an experience (last Sunday, March 15) – the St. Patrick’s Day celebration hosted by members of the Catholic Church (Saints Anthony and Philip) in Highland!
