Sheriff’s Department Activity

March 3, (4:38 p.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a car versus tractor crash on U.S. Highway 18 near Anderson Lane in the Town of Eden. The Cobb Fire Department, Cobb First Response, Montfort EMS, and Highland EMS, and Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene. No injuries were reported and the scene was cleared.

March 5, (11:37 a.m.), Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a warrant arrest attempt at a business near County Road YZ and North Bequette Street in the city of Dodgeville. As a result, Herman Jackson Jr., age 42, was arrested on an active warrant for his arrest. Jackson was transported to the Iowa County Jail and booked on the warrant.

(3:14 p.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a structure fire at an address in the 200 block of Fountain Street in the City of Mineral Point. The Mineral Fire Department, Dodgeville Fire Department, Mineral Point EMS, Mineral Point Police Department and Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the location. No injuries were reported, and the fire was extinguished.

(9:09 p.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received an open 911 call transferred from Grant County reporting a domestic disturbance at a residence near Isabell Street and High Street in the Township of Highland. Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies, assisted by Grant County Deputy and Avoca Police Department, responded to the location. As a result of an investigation, Seth J. Venden, age 43, was arrested for Felony Bail Jumping, Misdemeanor Bail Jumping, Resisting or Obstructing, and Officer and Disorderly Conduct. Also, Lisa A. Britt, age 59, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Resisting or Obstructing an Officer. Venden and Britt were transported to the Iowa County Jail, where subjects were booked on the listed charges.

March 6, (10:50 a.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a gas leak at a residence in the 7700 block of Pine Road in the Township of Arena. The Arena Fire Department, Arena EMS and Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the location. No injuries were reported and the issue was resolved.

(9:35 p.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a two vehicle crash with no injuries or road blockage. The Ridgeway Fire Department, Ridgeway First Responders, Barneveld EMS, Ridgeway Marshal and Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the location. Precision Towing assisted with removal of one vehicle.

March 7, (7:13 p.m.), The Avoca Police Chief conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Hay Road near the intersection of State Road 133 in the Township of Pulaski. An Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputy assisted on the stop. As a result of an investigation, Andre D Farland, age 32, was arrested on an active Sauk County child support warrant. Lindsey R. Geick, age 43, was arrested for criminal charges of Operate After Revocation and Failure to Install Ignition Interlock Device. Farland was transferred into the custody of the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office. Geick was transported to the Iowa County Jail where she was booked on the charges.

March 8, (12:26 p.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of an odor of gas in a residence in the 7600 block of Lone Pine Road in the Township of Brigham. The Barneveld Fire Department and Barneveld EMS responded to the location. No injuries were reported and the issue was resolved.

March 9, (7:48 a.m.), Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted the Dodgeville Police Department with a report of a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of E. Swayne Street in the City of Dodgeville. As a result of the investigation, Tiffany Brown, age 34, was arrested for Misdemeanor Bail Jumping and Domestic Disorderly Conduct. Brown was transported to the Iowa County Jail, where she was booked on the charges.

Year to date 2025, we have had 4,006 calls for service. Year to date in 2026, we had 4,889 calls for service. That means we are up 883 calls compared to this time last year.

This past week 14 people were booked into the lowa County Jail for various offenses/holds.
