Sheriff’s Department Activity By Sheriff Michael Peterson

March 17, (4:28 a.m.), An Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the 1100 block of North Bequette Street in the City of Dodgeville. As a result of the stop, the operator, Lucas F. Storlie, age 34, was arrested for criminal charges of Operate After Revocation (Due to OWI conviction), Fail to Install Ignition Interlock Device, and Bail Jumping – Misdemeanor. Storlie was transported to the Iowa County Jail where he was booked on the charges.

(7:24 a.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a one vehicle crash on State Road 39 near the intersection of County Road D in the Township of Mineral Point. The Mineral Point Fire Department, Mineral Point EMS, and Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the location. No injuries were reported. Bossert’s Towing assisted with vehicle removal.

March 18, (3:55 p.m.), A Linden Police Officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of State Road 39 near Sunny Slop Road in the Township of Linden. Iowa County Deputies assisted at the scene. Following the investigation, Hector Orlando Garmendia Pereira, age 31, was arrested for Operate w/out valid DL (3rd Offense within 3 years). Pereira was transported to the Iowa County Jail, where he was booked on the listed charges.

March 20, (2:40 a.m.), The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office received a request from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections to detain a subject on active supervision through the department. Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies made contact with the subject, Lucas M. Thruman, age 37, at a residence in the 300 block of South Street in the Village of Arena. Thruman was arrested and subsequently transported to the Iowa County Jail on the order to detain from the WI DOC.

(3:10 p.m.), An Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputy and Dodgeville Police Officer arrested a subject at an address in the 300 block of West Clarence Street in the City of Dodgeville for an active warrant for their arrest. Amy G. Ortiz, age 42, was arrested for the warrant and transported to the Iowa County Jail where she was booked.

(7:14 p.m.), An Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Curtis Road near the intersection of Bennett Road in the Township of Dodgeville. As a result of the stop, the operator, Michael J. Wiest, age 34, was arrested for criminal charges of Possession of THC (2nd or more offense), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Bail Jumping – misdemeanor. Wiest was also ordered to be detained by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections as he was on active supervision. Wiest was transported to the Iowa County Jail where he was booked on the charges and order.

March 21, (11:42 a.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of an odor of natural gas present in a building in the 100 block of Church Street in the Village of Barneveld. The Barneveld Fire Department and Barneveld EMS responded to the location. The issue was resolved and utilities were contacted to respond.

(1:40 p.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a tree on fire on electrical power lines in the 7000 block of County Road N in the Township of Pulaski. The Avoca Fire Department, Avoca EMS and Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the location. Alliant Energy responded to the location and the issue was resolved.

(8:49 p.m.), An Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Old Main Street near the intersection of Cretney Street in the Village of Ridgeway. As a result of an investigation, the operator, Jacob A. Towns, age 46, was arrested for Operate While Under the Influence, second offense. Towns was transported to the Iowa County Jail and booked in on the charge.

(9:02 p.m.), An Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputy witnessed a vehicle drive off the roadway and into a nearby field from State Road 80 at the northern intersection of County Road P in the Township of Highland. Subsequent to an investigation, Michael B. Perkins, age 48, was arrested for a criminal charge of Resisting or Obstructing an Officer and a Wisconsin Department of Corrections probation hold. Perkins was transported to the Iowa County Jail and booked on the charge and hold.

March 22, (5:46 p.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received notification from the Wisconsin State Patrol regarding an arrest on a subject with an active arrest warrant through Iowa County. An Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputy met with the arresting Wisconsin State Trooper and received custody of the subject, Joseph Flores Jimenez, age 29. Flores was transported to the Iowa County Jail and booked on the warrant.

(7:37 p.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a one vehicle crash on US Highway 151 near mile marker 42 in the Township of Mineral Point. The Mineral Point Fire Department, Mineral Point EMS and Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the location. No injuries were reported and Al’s Towing assisted with the vehicle removal.

(10:01 p.m.), An Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputy made contact with a subject who turned themselves in at the Iowa County Law Enforcement Center. The subject, Kenyon J. Ross, age 45, was arrested on a criminal charge relating to a previously reported and investigated incident. Ross was charged and booked into the Iowa County Jail on Disorderly Conduct, domestic related.

March 23, (4:29 p.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of an out-of-control brush fire on County Road X near County Road XX in the Township of Mifflin. The Livingston Fire Department, Livingston First Responders, and Montfort EMS responded to the scene. The incident was cleared with no injuries reported.

(7:22 p.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of an odor of natural gas inside a building in the 4000 block of East Brigham Road in the Township of Brigham. The Barneveld Fire Department, Barneveld EMS, and Premier Co-Op responded to the location. The issue was resolved, and utilities were contacted to respond.
