April 29, (1:52 p.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a one vehicle crash near State Road 133 and Moddy Road in the Town of Pulaski. The Avoca Fire Department, Avoca Police Department and Iowa County Deputy responded to the location. No injuries were reported and Wegner Auto Service assisted with the vehicle.
(3:08 p.m.), Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a subject at Blackhawk Lake for an out of state active warrant for their arrest. Toy P. Hall age 49, from Verona was arrested for the warrant and transferred to the care of the Verona Police Department. Subsequently, Hanna R. Mathiot, age 21, from Verona was arrested for Resisting or Obstructing an Officer. Mathiot was transported to the Iowa County Jail where she was booked on the charges.
(8:27 p.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of threats being made in the 2500 block of US Highway 18 in the Town of Linden. Subsequent to the investigation Kerrie A. Paetzke, age 49, from Ridgeway was arrested for Computer Message – Threaten/Injury or Harm. Paetzke was transported to the Iowa Conty Jail where she was booked on the charges.
April 30, (8:42 a.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a vehicle on fire near US Highway 18-151 and County Road HHH in the Town of Ridgeway. The Ridgeway Fire Department, Ridgeway First Responders, Barneveld EMS, Ridgeway Marshall and Iowa County Deputies responded to the scene. No injuries were reported and Hasse’s assisted with the removal of the vehicle.
(11:24 a.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a fire alarm at Sunnyside in the City of Dodgeville. Dodgeville Police Department, Dodgeville Fire Department and Dodgeville EMS responded to the scene but were disregarded. Dodgeville Fire Command remained on the scene to ensure the system was reset and operational.
May 1, (6:28 a.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a two vehicle crash on US Highway 151 near mile marker 47 in the Township of Dodgeville. The Dodgeville Fire Department, Dodgeville EMS, Dodgeville Police Department, and Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the location. No injuries were reported and Randy’s Towing Service assisted with the removal of involved vehicles.
(5:11 p.m.), An Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the 100 block of North Street in the Village of Ridgway. Subsequent to an investigation, the operator, Jerry D Mclaughlin, age 19, was arrested for criminal charges of Possession of THC, Possess Drug Paraphernalia, Go Armed with Firearm – Controlled Substance, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. Mclaughlin was transported to the Iowa County Jail and booked on the charges.
(8:00 p.m.), An Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on County Road YZ near the intersection of County Road Y in the Township of Dodgeville. Subsequent to an investigation, a passenger, Jermel D Randolph, age 45, was arrested on a criminal charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Randolph was transported to the Iowa County Jail where he was booked on the charge.
(11:54 p.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a fire alarm activated at a residence in the 3300 block of State Road 133 in the Township of Clyde. The Lone Rock Fire Department and Lone Rock EMS responded to the location. No injuries and no significant property damage were reported.
May 2, (3:06 a.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a domestic related disturbance that had occurred at Tower Hill State Park; 5808 County Road C, in the Township of Wyoming. The involved parties had since left the incident location and were stopped by Richland County Sheriff’s Deputies on US Highway 14 near the intersection of Old Mill Drive in Richland County. Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the traffic stop location and conducted an investigation. As a result of the investigation, Ricardo Michel Valdez Jara, age 32, was arrested for a criminal charge of domestic related Disorderly Conduct. Valdez Jara was transported to the Iowa County Jail where he was booked on the charge.
(10:05 p.m.), An Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop with a vehicle on US Highway 151 near mile marker 36 in the Township of Mineral Point. The vehicle failed to yield to the attempt to stop and led the deputy on a pursuit. The vehicle yielded and pulled over on County Road A near the intersection of US Highway 151. The Mineral Point Police Department and a Wisconsin State Trooper assisted on the stop. Subsequent to an investigation, the operator, Tiffany A Chandler, age 30, was arrested for criminal charges of Possession of Narcotic Drugs, Fail to Obey Traffic Officer – Highway Area, Operate After Revocation (Due to OWI Conviction), and Possess Drug Paraphernalia. Chandler was also held on two active felony warrants for her arrest, one through Grant County and another through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. Chandler was transported to the Iowa County Jail and booked on the charges and warrants.
May 3, (8:01 p.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a one vehicle crash in the 5300 block of County Road K in the Township of Brigham. The Barneveld Fire Department, Barneveld EMS and Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the location. No injuries were reported.
(10:06 p.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a traffic complaint regarding a vehicle operating northbound on County Road I in the Township of Highland. An Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputy located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop with it on Main Street near the intersection of Barnard Street in the Village of Highland. Subsequent to an investigation, the operator, Hermilo Amayo Zopiyactle, age 33, was arrested for Operating While Under the Influence, first offense. Hermilo was released to a responsible party.

Year to date 2025, we have had 7,891 calls for service. Year to date in 2026, we had 9,575 calls for service. That means we are up 1,684 calls compared to this time last year. This past week 25 people were booked into the Iowa County Jail for various offenses/holds.
