Sheriff’s Department Activity

April 22, (10:27 p.m.), The Iowa County Communications received an automated crash detection alert reporting a vehicle crash on State Road 78 north of the intersection of County Road F in the Township of Moscow. The Blanchardville Fire Department, Blanchardville EMS, Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies and a Wisconsin State Trooper responded to the scene. No injuries were reported and Al’s Towing Service assisted with removal of the vehicle.

April 23, (10:15 a.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a notification from Verona Police Department they had detained a female subject with an active Iowa County arrest warrant. Charlene M. Miller, age 22, was transferred into Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputy custody and transported to the Iowa County Jail where she was booked on the warrant.

April 24, (7:14 p.m.), An Iowa County Deputy conducted a traffic stop on State Road 23 near Green Leaf Dr. in the Town of Dodgeville. As a result of the stop, Salvador Antonio Ayala Mendoza, age 28, of Darlington was arrested for Operating While Revoked due to OWI and IID Tampering/Fail to Install/Violate Court Order.

(7:17 p.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of an odor of chemicals present in a building in the 200 block of W Wilson Street in the Town of Moscow. The Blanchardville Fire Department responded to the location and the issue was resolved.

(7:45 p.m.), An Iowa County Deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of Main Street in the Town of Linden. As a result of the stop, Nicholas L. Friederich, age 40, of Linden was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possess Drug Paraphernalia to Manufacture, Compound, Convert, Produce, or Store Methamphetamine, Possess Amphetamine/LSD/Psilocin, and Bail Jumping, Felony. Friederich was transported to the Iowa Couty Jail and booked on the charges.

(9:18 p.m.), An Iowa County Deputy conducted a traffic stop on State Road 23 near County Road T in the Town of Wyoming. As a result of the stop, Cody J. Buckeridge, age 33, of Arena was arrested and later released to a responsible party.

(9:31 p.m.), An Iowa County Deputy conducted a traffic stop on US Highway 151 near E. Survey Road in the Town of Mineral Point. As a result of the stop, Yarely Ramos Pedraza, age 34, of Darlington was arrested for Operating W/O Valid License (3rd+ W/IN 3 YRS). Ramos Pedraza was transported to the Iowa County Jail and booked on the charges.

April 25, (4:59 a.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a disturbance at Deer Valley Lodge in the Town of Brigham. Subsequent to an investigation, Nicole L. Stokes, age 39, of Spring Green was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. Stokes was transported to the Iowa County Jail and booked on the charges.

April 26, (12:13 a.m.), An Iowa County Deputy conducted a traffic near the intersection of N. Bequette St. and W. Madison St. in the City of Dodgeville. As a result of the stop Taylor A. Groom, age 35, of Dodgeville was arrested for Operating after Revocation (1st – Rev due to OWL/PAC), IID Tampering/Fail to Install/Violate Court Order and Bail Jumping, Misdemeanor. Groom was transported to the Iowa County Jail and booked on the charges.

(4:45 p.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a grass fire near residence on Richardson Rd. in the Town of Arena. Arena Fire Department, Arena EMS, Barneveld Fire Department and the DNR responded to the scene. The fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported.

(8:57 p.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received several reports of a 3-vehicle crash on US Highway 18-151 near mile marker 55 in the Town of Ridgeway. Ridgeway Fire Department, Ridgeway First Responders, Dodgeville EMS and Iowa County Sheriff Deputies responded to the scene. No injuries were reported. Randy’s Towing and Bossert’s assisted with removal of the vehicles.

April 27, (7:50 a.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a traffic complaint of a vehicle traveling on US Highway 18 from State Road 80. An Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputy located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop with it on US Highway 18 near the intersection of Survey Road in the Township of Dodgeville. Subsequent to an investigation, the operator, Jolene R. Klarer, age 41, was arrested for criminal charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and one noncriminal charge of Operating While Under the Influence, first offense. Klarer was transported to the Iowa County Jail and booked on the charges.

(12:28 p.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a tree branch that had caught on fire after falling on a power line near a residence in the 300 block of North Level Street in the City of Dodgeville. The Dodgeville Fire Department, Dodgeville EMS and Dodgeville Police Officers responded to the location. The fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported. Alliant Energy assisted at the scene.

(3:23 p.m.), The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of an electrical pole sparking near a substation facility in the Village of Rewey. The Rewey Fire Department, Rewey First Responders, and Montfort EMS responded to the location. No injuries were reported and Alliant Energy assisted at the scene.

Year to date 2025, we have had 7,496 calls for service. Year to date in 2026, we had 8,958 calls for service. That means we are up 1,462 calls compared to this time last year. This past week 21 people were booked into the Iowa County Jail for various offenses/holds.
