School board approves employee benefits

The Dodgeville school board approved items that relate to the district employees at a special meeting.

The board discussed the presented health insurance renewal with a 6.9% increase, dental insurance renewal with a 2% increase and staff wages with no increase for hourly or salary employees due to the failed referendum. The board approed the benefits package.

The board discussed the state laww which requires a ban on personal electronic devices during the school day, with any exceptions to be listed in the student handbook. The board approved the presented policy.

Two bids were received for the proposed solar energy project. Eagle Point and Ethos Solar presented the bids which were opened.

District Administrator Ryan Bohnsack will analyze what each bid includes and report back to the Board during the Building and Grounds / Finance Committee meetings on May 13. The board was reminded that any solar work done is 100% covered by community donations and no district funds will be used.

The board received a list of the staff members who will receive a letter of contract renewal next week.

The board approved the resignation of Abigail Richardson – DMS math teacher. They then voted to hire Danielle Coulson – DMS, Luke Olson – DMS, and Kaelyn Dvorak – JV1 girls volleyball coach.

In a final matter the board voted toapprove the 2026-2027 staff contracts.
