Rewey Big Clean Up Day for the spring is Saturday, May 2. Mark, the Rewey Maintenance Man, will be posting the location and time later this week. There is work scheduled around the treatment plant, so it may not be available for you to bring your stuff there. The recent rains have delayed the work there.
Rewey Garage Sales are May 6-9. There are seven locations so far and more may be added. Jeanne is printing off a list which will be available at each location so you won’t miss any sale. This will also have times and dates as some aren’t happinging every day. Jeanne’s number is 608-574- 9402 if you have any questions. Jeanne is known as “The Crazy Cat Lady of Rewey” and is accepting donations of all kinds (no clothes) for her 6th Annual Spay/Neuter & Medical Expenses for the cats and kittens she rescues all year long. In 2025 she helped over 100 cats and kittens and they come from many locations in SW Wisconsin. People just don’t know what to do with their cats and kittens. Jeanne has some help after she gets them spayed/neutered and healthy. She can take them to Angels’ Wish, an adoption center and cat rescue that adopts our more then 1000 a year. Angels’ Wish is run completely by volunteers.
Jeanne takes 100% of the garage sale proceeds and puts it towards the cat spay/neuter and medical expense project. She provides the food, cages, etc out of her own pocket. She is a cat lover and has made this her full-time volunteer job. If you’d like to give a cash donation, you have her phone number. Come to Rewey May 6-9 to see what bargains you can find at the many garage sales.
Spring and summer hours fot the recycling shed in Mifflin are: Saturdays from 7:00-3:00.
The Platteville Journal is asking to help make their special edition of the 250th History of our country. If you have some history of the Iowa-Grant area from years ago – photos, stories, businesses, farms, anything readers might enjoy they are welcoming them. The older, the better. You can email them to Ann Rupp – ad@theplattevillejournal.com or bring them to the Journal office to get them scanned. This will come out sometime in the next few months. Don’t put it off if you’d like to contribute and have the Iowa-Grant area included.
