Jeanne is taking donations for her Spay & Neuter cat mission in the area. Last year she helped over 100 cats and kittens find “furever” homes. She is one of the Rewey residents who has a garage sale. She accepts garage sale donations or money and 100% of it goes to the spay & neuter cat mission. Shed accepts almost anything that is sellable, but NO clothing please at her sale. This is her 6th fundraiser garage sale for cats & kittens. Known as the “Crazy Cat Lady of Rewey” she’ll try to answer questions at 608-574-9402.

Dear Community Members:

We are reaching out to ask for your support in helping preserve and maintain the Mifflin Cemetery. This cemetery holds a special place in our community honoring the lives and memories of those who came before us. Ongoing care, upkeep and improvements are essential to ensure it remains a respectable and peaceful resting place. We kindly ask for donations of any amount with maintenance costs such as landscaping, repairs and general upkeep. Every contribution, no matter the size, means a meaningful difference. Donations can be sent to: Community First Bank in Livingston at 125 North Center St. P.O.Box 99 – 53554. If you have questions or would like more information about how your donation will be used, please feel free to reach out. Thank you for your generosity and for helping us preserve this important part of our community’s history.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Herman Knight of Rewey/Belmont. He passed on April 12 and no arrangements have been made at the time of this writing.

The Platteville Journal is asking for your help. They are working on preparing a Special Section later this year for the 250th History of our Country. If you have any old photos of area businesses, families or a story readers may enjoy from our IG area towns of Rewey, Livingston, Montfort, Linden or Cobb or anywhere in that area they’d like to hear from you. Bring your stories or photos to get scanned to the Platteville Journal or Email them to Ann Rupp – ad@theplattevillejournal.com This doesn’t need to be done immediately, but keep it in mind so our area can have its history in the special section. Time flies, so don’t wait too long or we may miss out.

If you were in Rewey for he Fire Department Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, you are part of This Week’s Remarkable People. The parking lot and streets were lined with vehicles and the tables and chairs inside were full during this great fundraiser for our Rewey Volunteer Fire Department. A big thanks to the members of the department for all the planning, cooking, serving and the delicious food along with all of you who attended and supported them. The crowd just seemed to be enjoying the day. You are all remarkable people. Thank you for coming to our Village of Rewey and your support.

I have no excuse for this mistake from last week. Senior moment for this shepherd maybe? It should have been Darren and Kia’s wedding anniversary. I remember they were wed during COVID (2020) in a small ceremony as no one could go anywhere. Hope you had a special day!
