Host Prairie du Chien was not given much of a chance by Golden Eagles hurler Lauren Reese.
Reese was in command all night. She limited the Blackhawks to two hits while striking out 13 and walking five. The Eagles won the nonconference match-up 11.1.
Reese’s teammates supported her with a 14 hit attack. Eliza Gordon was on fire in the leadoff spot with a 3×5 performance with two runs scored and three rbis.
Addison Carden was 3×4 with two runs scored and two rbis.
Hannah Esch was 3×5 with an rbi. Gordon, Carden and Reese all doubled.
The rest of the hits came from Aleea Norton, Mya Norton, Mckenna Hopfensperger and Isabel Pohlman.
The Eagles opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two ground outs. Barneveld first got on the board when Addison Walker grounded out, scoring one run.
The Eagles added one run in the third after Reese doubled to center field.
Claire Kennedy took the loss for the Ladyhawks. The hurler went four innings, allowing seven runs (six earned) on nine hits, striking out three and walking none.
