Mineral Point’s Drew Aschliman fired a one-under 34 Friday to take medalist honors in the seven team SWAL golf meet held at the Darlington Country Club. Mineral Point finished second in the team event with a 163, five shots behind Cuba City/SW/B who won the event shooting a 158. Barneveld placed third with a 165, Argyle/Pec fourth with a 171 and Iowa-Grant finished in sixth shooting a 201. Fennimore was not able to field a team with only two golfers.
Barneveld’s Noah Doescher was one stroke behind Aschliman as he led his team with an even-par round of 35. Cohlman Schlimgen and Tucker Bethke led Argyle/Pec both shooting 41.
