PBS Wisconsin is inviting residents of southwest Wisconsin to take part in a community storytelling project focused on America’s upcoming 250th anniversary.
On Wednesday, June 3, PBS Wisconsin, in partnership with Dodgeville Public Library and Iowa County Historical Society, will host two community callouts at the Dodgeville Public Library where attendees can share personal reflections on what the nation’s semiquincentennial means to them.
The filmed reflections may be featured in “MyAmerica@250,” a social media campaign designed to showcase a range of perspectives from Wisconsinites about the anniversary and the future of democracy. Two sessions are scheduled for Wednesday, June 3: . 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. . 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The event will take place at the Dodgeville Public Library, located at 10 E. Leffler St. in Dodgeville. No advance registration is required. Participants will be asked one or two questions centered on the theme, “What America’s 250th Anniversary Means to Me.”
The event is part of PBS Wisconsin’s broader America@250 Initiative, which encourages communities across the state to reflect on shared history, democracy and civic engagement ahead of the nation’s 250th anniversary in 2026.
