Jordan Gauger tripled and drove in three runs for River Valley but Mount Horeb won the non-conferenc game 9-6 Monday.
Quincy Blakley was 2×3 and combined with Gauger for the three hits the Blackhawks recorded.
Keagan Heiser, Kaden Plumley and Quinn Cady all took a turn on the mound for RV, Heiser and Plumley both had one strikeout.
The Hawks had a 4-3 lead going into the sixth when the Vikings exploded for six runs. RV added two in the seventh but fell short.
