We have been having some very capricious weather lately. My daffodils barely had time to peek out and face the sunshine before harsh wind and hail battered them to the ground “April is the cruellest month,” as T. S. Eliot wrote. Here’s hoping this cruel spring frost moves along and makes room for the gentle warm breezes of spring.
One thing to look forward to this week in our community is the Annual Iowa-Grant Leo Club Community Food Stand on Saturday, April 25, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the new Collision Specialists facility. Attendees can enjoy a variety of lunch options, including grilled pork chop sandwiches, grilled brats, and hot dogs. Chips, dessert bars, and beverages will also be available. Carryout orders are welcome. The event will take place inside the newly opened Collision Specialists building, offering community members a chance to enjoy a meal while supporting local youth initiatives.
In addition to the food stand, Collision Specialists and the Iowa-Grant Leo Club will host a Car Wash & Detailing Fundraiser on Saturday, April 25, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
in downtown Livingston. Appointments (about one hour) can be made by calling 943-6488. A food stand will be available. A $50 minimum donation is required, with 100% of proceeds benefiting the Iowa-Grant Leo Club. Come support a great cause and get your car “springready.”
The Livingston Public Library invites families to attend its upcoming Storytime series, held on Thursdays at 10 a.m. Children can enjoy stories and activities themed around the season. All are welcome to join these fun and engaging mornings at the library.
Summer Reading is around the corner, and the Library is accepting donations of new toys and books that can be used as summer reading prizes. If you would like to donate to this worthy cause, please contact the library at 608-943-6801 or email lgrothjan@swls.org.
Items for inclusion in the Livingston News may be dropped off at the library during open hours, placed in the book drop, emailed to Igrothjan@swls.org, or submitted by phone at 608-943-6801. All community news is welcome and appreciated.
