When the sun peeked over the horizon on Easter morning, I thought my heart might burst with happiness. It is amazing how seeing the sun pour through the window, after many days of gloomy weather, can brighten one’s spirit. It is true what William Shakespeare stated: “April hath put a spirit of youth in everything.”
Registration for Iowa-Grant T-ball and Coach-pitch is open. Preparation is underway for the Iowa-Grant T- Ball and Coach Pitch season. The season will run July 6-30, 2026, with games held Mondays and Thursdays. T-Ball will take place from 5:30-6:15 p.m., followed by Coach Pitch from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Registration forms are due by Friday, May 8. The program is school sponsored, and all coaches, players, and parents must complete a Code of Conduct form.
Eligibility includes children ages 4-6 (4K and kindergarten) for T-Ball and students in 1st-2nd grade for Coach Pitch during the 2025-2026 school year. Teams will be formed by grade level, with adjustments only permitted if needed to complete a team.
Registration is $11, with optional purchases including a $20 baseball hat or $20 visor. Face gear is required for all Coach Pitch softball infield players.

IGEMS is partnering with CESA3 and the Cobb, Livingston, and Montfort Public Libraries for a 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Challenge roll-out. Please join us on Wednesday, April 8, from 5-7 p.m., in the IGEMS library for fun activities from PBS Kids Wisconsin and
local and Iowa-Grant school librarians. There will be something for everyone: Third Grade Wax Museum, from 5:15-6 p.m. in the elementary hallways, with make-and-take crafts, literacy activities, and opportunities to learn about local libraries’ summer reading programs.
The Livingston Public Library invites families to attend its upcoming Storytime series, held on Thursdays at 10 a.m. Children can enjoy stories and activities themed around the season. All are welcome to join these fun and engaging mornings at the library.

According to the Ready Wisconsin website, we are less than one month away from Wisconsin’s Annual Statewide Tornado Drill. The statewide tornado drill will occur on April 16, 2026, at 1:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. pending any severe weather threats.
