The Knights trailed by as many as four runs for the first half of their HTL Western Section game with Belleville Sunday but roared back to tame the Raiders 15-7.
The Raiders jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Riley Donahoe singled in a run. Logan Ludlum singled for another run, and Paul Meyer doubled, to add two runs.
Belleville scored one run in the top of the fifth on a solo home run to center field by Carson Jesberger.
The Knights tied the game in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a sacrifice fly by Jakob Kastenholz, and a single by Bryce Crubaugh-Lockard.
An error gave Belleville the lead, 7-6, in the top of the seventh.
The Knights HTL took the lead, 9- 7, in the bottom of the seventh and were helped by two errors.
They scored six runs on four hits in the bottom of the eighth inning. Dom McVay singled, scoring two runs, Jack Graber doubled, scoring two runs, and Macoy Miles singled, scoring two runs.
Kastenholz took the ball first for the Knights. He surrendered six hits and seven runs (six earned) over seven innings, striking out two and walking eight. McVay pitched two innings of shutout ball in relief. He gave up three hits, striking out two and walking none.
The Knights tallied 12 hits in the game. Grant Roh went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the Knights. McVay and Graber each drove in three runs. Sean Reilly collected two hits for Dodgeville in three at bats. Leyton Bowers, Jack Graber, McCoy Miles and Ty Palzkill added a hit each to the attack.
Belleville tallied nine hits in the game.
The Knights welcome the Caz Reds tonight then host Hollandale Saturday and travel to Muscoda Sunday for their next action.
