Dear Editor,
Jacobson, like her primary opponents, has a good grasp of the issues facing rural Wisconsin and what needs to be done about them. What makes her stand out is her life and work experiences. She grew up in a single parent household that relied on food stamps. It took her eight years to get through college, having to work second shift factory jobs and a day job at a Credit Union in order to finance her education. After graduating with a degree in Consumer Financial Planning she took a job helping people secure and stay in stable housing. Jacobson served on the Village of Oregon Board and then went on to get elected twice to the Wisconsin State Assembly where she now serves. Through her committee assignments in the legislature she has been at the forefront of fighting for Wisconsin’s rural communities. Neither of her primary opponents have any legislative experience. Jacobson is the candidate best positioned to defeat incumbent Republican Howard Marklein in November.
