Fennimore Baseball scored six runs in the seventh inning to defeat Iowa-Grant 11-7

Despite committing six errors and being outhit ten to nine, Fennimore took advantage of control issues by Panther pitching, scoring six runs in the seventh inning to defeat Iowa-Grant 11-7 at Jinkins Field in Livingston.

In the seventh, Panther pitcher Maddox Fisher walked the leadoff batter and then allowed a single. After a fly ball out, Fisher walked the next two batters scoring a run. Jude Kinney singled to score another run that tied the game to 7- 7. With bases still loaded, Sam Lundell replaced Fisher on the mound, but he walked the next two batters making it 9-7. Will Fulton relieved Lundell but he hit the first batter he faced scoring a run, then walked the next batter making it 11-7.

The Panthers led 1-0 in the first inning when Brock Hinderman singled home Everett Zimmer. Fennimore tied it in the top half of the third inning on a Corey Dresen single what scored Gianni Filardo who earlier walked. With two on and two outs, Casey Dresen homered for the Eagles making it 4- 1.

The Panthers tied it in the bottom of the third with two runners on, Brody Linclner doubled to center scoring both runners. Linclner then scored on a Fennimore error. In the bottom of the fifth, the Panthers scored three runs to take a 7- 4 lead. Fennimore made it 7-5 in the fifth before erupting for six runs in the seventh to win it 11-7.

Zimmer started game for Iowa- Grant on the mound, going five innings, allowing six hits, five runs, he struck out nine batters and walked three. Combined, the Panthers walked ten batters.

Linclner and Treyton Loeffelholz led the Panthers at the plate with three hits each. Iowa-Grant is now 7-3 on the season and will host River Ridge on Thursday, April 30.
