Donald J. McCarville passed away peacefully on July 4th, 2026 at his home after an extended illness with his family by his side.
He was born on November 21, 1948 in Dodgeville, WI the son of Joseph and Edna (Maigatter) McCarville. Donnie graduated from Belmont High School and continued his education for two years at UW Platteville and transferred to UW Madison where he earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering. Donnie’s military service was in the National Guard followed by the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam War from 1971 – 1972. After completing his time over seas he worked at Modine in Racine, WI until he retired and moved to the family farm.
Donnie is survived by eleven siblings; Judy (Joe) Bruun, Mary Kuhlemeier, Pat McCarville, Nancy (David) Schmertman, Mike (Connie) McCarville, Bill McCarville, Joyce (Mike) Grinnell, Roger (Nancy) McCarville, Lee (Heidi) McCarville, Paul (Laurie) McCarville and Jean McCarville. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother David and sister-in-law Shelley.
A Celebration of Donnie’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at McCarvilles My Turn Pub in Belmont, WI.
