Donald “Don” Komplin

Donald “Don” Komplin, age 75, of Exeland, formerly of Ridgeway, peacefully passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026, in his sleep. Don was born on January 29, 1951, in Dodgeville, the youngest son of Ralph and Dorothy (Tempest) Komplin. Don met the love of his life, Brenda Evans, in 2004. They’ve been inseparable since.

Don worked as a brick mason for Rural Mason for many years alongside his brother, Bob. Don, Bob, and their dad Ralph loved designing and building fireplaces for many businesses and homes in the area.

Don enjoyed hunting and fishing, hosting fish fries, working on cars, jigsaw puzzles, spending time with Brenda, Bob and his friends, and nature—especially his flowers, birds, and squirrels and chipmunks.

Don will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor, wit, and friendship.

Don was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Dorothy, brother Doug Komplin, father-in-law James Evans, step-son Joseph White, and many other family members and friends.

Don is survived by his wife Brenda; brother Bob (Tina) Komplin; step-daughter Brittany (Andy) Lindh; grandchildren: Xaiver, Axel, and Finley Lindh; mother-in-law Sharon Evans; brother-in-law Jeff (Julie) Evans; sisters-in-law Pam (Kevin) Roberts and Lynn Evans; best friends Scott Hurd and Rex Hurd; many nieces and nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation for Don will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home, Dodgeville, from 11:00 am until 2:00pm. Burial will commence at Ebenezer East Side Cemetery in Ridgeway following the visitation. Online condolences may be made at www.houckfuneralhomes.com

As Don would say, “Later.”
