Dear Editor,
When our family first began thinking about where we wanted our child to attend school, we honestly had our sights set on a different school district. We applied for open enrollment with that district, hoping that would be the path we would take. When we were placed on the waiting list and ultimately did not get in, we decided to give the Dodgeville School District a try. Quite honestly, it was our only option at that point.
What started as our “Plan B” quickly became the best decision we could have made.
From the beginning, we have been incredibly impressed with the Dodgeville School District and the experience our daughter has had. The teachers, staff, administrators, and entire school community have made our family feel welcomed, supported, and valued. She has had opportunities to learn, grow, make friendships, and become involved in her school and community. Our daughter is excited for the school year, and she cannot wait for her two younger siblings to go to her school too!
We have seen firsthand the dedication of the people who work in our schools and their commitment to providing students with a quality education. We are proud to have our daughter attend Dodgeville schools, and we believe strongly in supporting the district and the future of our community.
A strong school district benefits more than just the students who attend it. It strengthens our entire community, helps attract and retain families, supports our local economy, and contributes to the future of Dodgeville.
And future Dodgeville needs us. We know that referendums require thoughtful consideration and represent a significant investment for our community. But we also believe that investing in our schools is an investment in our children, our families, and the future of our community.
We hope you will choose to support the growth of our community and help make Dodgeville a place where people want to live, work, raise their families, and stay.
If you have questions about the referendum, ask them. If you have questions from past decisions made, ask them. Put the effort into being educated so you can make a confident vote.
We are thankful that we were given the opportunity to “give Dodgeville a try.” What we initially thought might be our second choice has turned out to be one of the best experiences our family could have asked for. We hope you’ll join us in supporting the future of our schools and our community.
