Dodgeville’s high school baseball team spoted visiting Monroe three runs in the first inning they came back to defeat the Cheesemakers 13- 3 in five.
All three Monroe runs were unearned.
Eight runs in the fourth inning helped decide the game. An error scored one run, Sophomore Blake Stodola singled in two runs, nathan Johnson singled, scoring one run, Jack Graber singled, scoring two runs, Schneider grounded out, scoring one run, and Jentry Olson lined out, scoring one run.
Monroe got on the board in the top of the first inning on a ground out, an error, and hit batter.
Caden Schneider earned the win for the Dodgers. The southpaw gave up four hits and three runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out seven and walking none.
Dodgeville tallied nine hits in the game. Schneider doubled and knocked in three runs.
Bryce Crubaugh-Lockard and Jayce Halverson each collected two hits for the Dodgers.
Andrew Hesseling also picked up a hit for the Dodgers.
Next up for the Dodgers is a conference game at Platteville on Friday.
