Dodgeville-Mineral Point and Iowa-Grant track & field teams took part in the UW-Platteville High School Invitational last Thursday. For the Dodgeville-Mineral Point boys, first places were earned by Johnny Robinson in the 800m (2:12) and Leif Nelson in the 1600m (4:55). Teammate, Nolan Allendorf finished 3rd in the 1600m (5:07).
Three Indoor Dodgeville-Mineral Point records were broken. First, Zayne Cartwright broke former teammate and now coach, Gavin Houtakker’s record with a time of 8.21 in the 55m hurdles placing 3rd in the event. Houtakker formerly had the record time of 8.22 in 2025.
Jaxon Jabs broke the triple jump record of 37-10.75 held by Chanler Leonard (2014) with a jump of 38- 0. Zayne Cartwright later surpassed that record with a leap of 40-01.
The boys 4x200m and 4x800m relays both placed second. The 4×200 consisted of Harper Olson, Carson Schroeder, Thorin Vamstad, and Jaxon Jabs. The 4×800 was made up of freshman Oliver Hegben, Peyton Elsner, Eli Brokopp and junior Johnny Robinson.
For the girl’s, first places were earned by Kit Finely in the 200m (28.36) and Avalee Langreck in the 800m run (2:43). Payton Christopher placed 3rd in the 800m (2:44).
The girls 4×200 relay made up of Finley, Christopher, Irene Martinez, and Beth Jewell ran their fastest time of the season (1:58) placing 2nd overall.
