Finally a complete game.
That is how Highland softball coach Tim Kosharek viewed the 11- 0 shutout the Cardinals handed Lancaster Monday.
Sumaryn Halverson took the ball and limited the Flying Arrows to six hits while striking out four. She did not walk a batter.
Halverson’s teammates backed her with a 12 hit attack.
The Cardinals added two runs in the third after Celia Oleson singled to center field on an 0-2 count.
Highland added two more runs in the top of the fourth inning on five hits. Marissa Biba hit a solo home run to left field, and Faith Hoffman doubled or an rbi.
Oleson and Cora Healy-Dougherty were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Highland. Bollant and Michek each collected multiple hits.
Healy-Dougherty and Biba both homered and Brinleigh Bolland stroked a triple to put on a power display for the winning Cardinals.
Hoffman, Bollant, Emily Laufenberg, Olesn and Ava Michek all doubled.
