Cardinals fall to P/C

Cora Healy-Dougherty sent a ball into orbit and Ava Michek drove in a run with a double but it wasn’t enough to get the Cardinals past Potosi-Cassville in a Six Rivers West softball game Friday.

The co-op came away with a 6-3 win on Friday at Highland.

Potosi-Cassville was the first to get on the board in the second when an error scored one run.

Healy-Dougherty homered to left field, which helped Highland tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.

Potosi-Cassville took the lead in the top of the third.

Sumaryn Halverson got the start and surrendered seven hits along with five runs (three earned) over six and one-third innings while striking out two and walking none.

Marissa Biba finished the final 2/3 and struck out two.

Halverson led Highland with two hits in three at bats. Michek and Healy-Dougherty each drove in one run for the Cardinals.
