The Blanchardville Bullets had five runs on the board by the fourth inning Sunday on the way to a 7-2 win over Shullsburg/Benton in the Western Section opener for both teams.
Tyler Mckeon had a day at the plate for the Bullets with four rbis and a 2×4 performance at the plate.
He had a two run double in the fourth and knocked in two more with a single in the eighth.
Dakota Doescher also doubled and earned the save in relief of Drew Schliem over the Fever. Schliem picked up the win with a six hitter over five frames with four strikeouts. Doescher then came on to finish.
He gave up one hit and two unearned runs while striking out six.
AJ Hendrickson joined Mckeon with two hits. Schliem, Doescher, Kyle Kleppe, Cole Breuer, Peter Gustafson and Brock Miller rounded out the hitting attack for the Bullets. Hendrickson, Doescher and Kleppe all drove in runs.
