A seven run third by Barneveld held up as the Golden Eagles outlasted Potosi/Cassville 15-7 in a Six Rivers game Friday.
The Eagles held a 14-12 edge in hitting with four players having multiple totals. Mason Durst was 4×6 with two doubles, Landon Beicher was 3×4, Kadyn Schlimgen 3×5 and Hunter Larson 2×5. Ty Thousand added a double and Mason Haesler came through with a single.
Hunter Larson earned the mound with relief appearances from Thousand and Cooper Shipman.
The Eagles opened the scoring in the second after Haesler singled to drive in a run.
Barneveld scored seven runs on five hits in the top of the third inning. Karson Leuzinger drew a walk, scoring one run, Thousand drew a walk, scoring one run, Haesler drew a walk, scoring one run, Durst doubled, scoring two runs, Schlimgen singled, scoring one run, and Larson singled, scoring one run.
Larson opened the game for the Golden Eagles. He gave up three hits and no runs over four innings, striking out eight and walking one.
Thousand and Shipman each appeared in relief for Barneveld.
