Don’t forget River Valley FFA’s Greenhouse Sale is happening May 1 to the 9th, Monday thru Friday 8 am to 5 pm and Saturday 9 am to 1 pm. There’s various plants for your planters. River Valley’s FFA is very busy in competitions, fund raising and of course, plantings.

Arena VFW has started a pretty big project. They’re documenting all of Arena’s veterans. They started with Duane Olson, killed in Vietnam. Duane’s family saved a lot of the letters he sent home, some written on toilet paper. They’re going to contact those that are still alive. We asked what happens if they’ve passed. They are lining up a questionnaire that will be sent to families for their stories. If you have any questions, call Kenny Amble.
Be careful while burning. Arena’s Fire was an out of control grass fire. It was close to the house but it wasn’t hurt. Check Arena Fire/EMS’s Facebook page. They’ve been posting when burn permits are available or when you shouldn’t burn.
Sympathies to the Boyd Spurley family on his passing this last week.
Spring is here and the weeds are in abundance. We’ve had plenty of rain. The crab apple trees are loaded this year, last year they weren’t as loaded. We saw a snake out and about. Did you see the huge anaconda or python that was out by CTH Z? It was longer than the police car! He may have escaped from his home but he was dead. I’m glad Wisconsin doesn’t have snakes that big!
