The Iowa-Grant School District Board of Education is seeking public input at its April 13 regular school board meeting regarding the athletic co-ops recently approved by Highland Community Schools for the 2026-2027 school year and beyond.
The meeting agenda includes discussion and possible action on coops with Highland for Softball, Track, and Golf. The meeting time has been moved up one half hour to 6:00 p.m. to provide ample time for anyone wishing to address the board during the public comment section of the board meeting.
Anyone interested in providing comments, but who is unable to attend the meeting is encouraged to submit their input or questions in writing to Superintendent Michael Shimshak either by mail or email mshimshak@igs.k12.wi.us with the subject line “co-ops”.
Shimshak said that in a time of declining enrollments and tight fiscal resources, he supports the idea of the districts working together for the best opportunities for all students. He points to the long-term success of the wrestling co-op with Highland and the recent state championship earned by the Dodge/Point/Iowa-Grant gymnastics team. Your input will be valued by the board of education as they consider expanding co-operation with Highland.
