Along The Ad Routes

We took our (so far) furthest trip for Saturday morning breakfast this past week when we went to Bloomington to Ma’s Bakery. This is the place where we run into Bob Kratochwill’s shirttail relatives. It was Bob, Terry, Dewey, Tom and me who made the trip in Tom’s vehicle that holds at least seven people. I got into the way back and had a lot of trouble doing so, mainly because I’m not that coordinated and needed directions to get back there! We received our coffee and water from Gwen and then her sister Terry took over. You don’t see a menu when you order. You just tell them what you want and they make it. Four of us had omelettes (very good) and Dewey had French toast and bacon. The prices are really reasonable. The place was packed. In fact, they had to take about 20 packs of buns off of a table, put them away and then we had a place to sit!

Terry is always a “hoot“ to talk with. She has a personality that never stops. She even called Terry and Tom “Little Fellows” and if you know them they aren’t really that little!

The other day I was getting set to cross the main street in Dodgeville by American Family Insurance/Arthur Real Estate. One truck went by as I was nearing the corner and then even before I started walking out the second truck stopped for me. The driver must’ve known me and where I was heading because at that point I could’ve been going either west or south! Thank you driver!

This Friday, Saturday and Sunday is the Annual Fall Art Tour throughout Southwestern Wisconsin from Baraboo to Mineral Point. You can see working artists in action in their studios and purchase some of their works. Bob Kratochwill and I usually make the trip together on one of those days!

This year In the Beginning Childcare and Learning Center is hosting the annual Trunk or Treat event! in Dodgeville. The event will be on October 28th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Courthouse Parking Lot. Businesses/organizations are starting to get signed up. I just bought nearly 800 pieces of candy to hand out! I will probably get more too!

Today (Thursday) is Evaluate Your Life Day, offering a time to reflect on our lives with the aim of becoming better versions of ourselves. It gives us the opportunity to check in with ourselves and assess whether we're still on the right track. This is something I need to do!
