The sweep Highland was able to pull off with Benton Tuesday had some key moments.
First was Marissa Biba getting the serve in the first set with Highland leading 10-8. When she stopped serving the Cardinals led 24-8. After the Zephyrs broke the serve Highland put up the last point to win the opener 25-9.
The second set saw the Cardinals cruise to a 25-18 win. The third set got a little tricky.
“We were down for awhile,” Highland coach Maria Wineski said. “But our defense was strong and held us in there. Benton is scrappy and cover the floor pretty well if you let them. We figured it out and got the win.”
The Cardinals finished the run 25- 22.
The Cardinals are 6-0 in Six Rivers West play and 14-3 overall. They play Cassville Monday.
