Darlene Katherine (Richardson) White

Darlene Katherine (Richardson) White passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, October 16, 2026 at the age of 96.

She was born to Herman and Alice Richardson on June 27, 1930. Darlene graduated from Spring Green Area High School and went on to have some odd jobs before meeting her husband of nearly 70 years, Raymond White. They married on October 3, 1956 and had 4 children, Allan White (Vicki), Barb Weier (John), Peggy Hardtke (Hans) and Larry White.

Darlene was a devoted homemaker whose greatest joy was caring for her family. Whether she was cooking, baking, canning, or creating something special in the kitchen, she showed her love through the meals she prepared and the care she gave to those around her. A woman of deep faith, Darlene could be found every Sunday sitting in her familiar pew at Saint John’s Catholic Church. After Mass, it was a cherished family tradition to gather at her home and enjoy a delicious, home-cooked meal together. These Sunday gatherings were more than just a meal; they were a time to reconnect, share stories, and create memories that would last a lifetime. Darlene also enjoyed playing cards, snowmobiling with her husband, and spending time with her sister, Betty, and her mother, Alice.

Family was the center of her world, and there was always a place at Grandma’s table for anyone who stopped by. Her door was always open, her heart was always welcoming, and there was always a warm meal waiting. And if the grandchildren were lucky, Grandma might even make a batch of her infamous turtles, a favorite treat that brought smiles to so many faces.

Darlene was a kind and gentle soul whose calling was to love and care for others. She did so with grace, nobility, and a generosity of spirit that touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

Her home was a place of comfort, her table a place of togetherness, and her love a gift that will remain in the hearts of her family forever.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Weier (John) of Ridgeway; brother, Bob (Bonnie) Richardson; her sister-in law, Charlotte Richardson; a daughter-in-law, Vicki Stevens; son-in-law, Hans Hardtke and many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Hardtke, sons, Larry and Allan White; grandson, Joseph White; her parents, Herman and Alice; siblings, Mary (Dan), Betty, Jim (Joyce), Jack, Howard (Darlene). 7 brothers-in law, Bob (Marie), Earl (Doris), Dick (Janet), Paul (Margaret), Jack (Irene), Charlie (Tootie), Bernard (Bernice); 2 sisters-in law Helen (Leo), Marion (Stan).
