Jana Lynn Lengyel, age 56, of Dodgeville, died on July 12, 2026 after a long battle with cancer.
She and her twin sister, Jody were born on May 17, 1970. She grew up on a farm in Montfort and attended Iowa Grant High School.
Jana was loved by many. She brought a smile to everyone’s face when she walked into the room.
She worked at Bloomfield Manor and Sienna Crest. She loved helping the elderly and was a very giving person, who would give the shirt off her back, her last dollar, or anything she could to anybody.
She enjoyed scrapbooking, pictures and collages and flower gardens. She was always well dressed and presented herself as such.
Jana loved her kids more than anything else. She would do anything and everything for them. She was so protective of her sons that she got the name, “Mama Bear”. She endured more than one person should. She was good at hiding all her pain and suffering. Some people took advantage of her kindness and generosity as a weakness, but it was her strength.
Jana is survived by her sons Tristan Bourette and Landon Lengyel; her significant other and caretaker Mike Popple; her nephews Cade and Cody Kirkpatrick; her aunt Janice Meudt; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Joan Kirkpatrick, her father Richard Kirkpatrick, her twin sister Jody Kirkpatrick, her brother Richard Kirkpatrick, her son Brady Bourette, her husband Jerry Lengyel.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2026 from 12 noon until 4:00 p.m. at THE HOLLOW, 102 W. Main Street, Montfort.
