Iowa County’s Opioid Settlement Grant Program continues to invest in community-based prevention, treatment, recovery, and harm-reduction initiatives throughout the county. The program directs Iowa County’s share of statewide opioid settlement funds toward evidence-based strategies that reduce opioid misuse, support individuals and families affected by substance use disorders, and strengthen long-term community wellness. More information about the program, including allowable uses and application materials, is available at: https://www.iowacountywi.gov/OpioidSettlement- Funds In June, the Iowa County Health and Human Services Committee awarded Opioid Settlement Grant funding to several community partners, including Girls on the Run of South Central Wisconsin, which received an award of $2,000 to support resiliency and empowerment programming at Dodgeville and Mineral Point Elementary Schools; the Dodgeville School District, awarded $15,000 to implement Sources of Strength training and resource navigation to bolster student wellness and prevention efforts; Merrimac & Main Recovery Group Clubhouse, awarded $14,880 to continue providing a consistent, supportive space for individuals in recovery; the Mineral Point Police Department, which received an award of $2,700 to purchase an AED for a squad vehicle to strengthen emergency response capacity for opioid-related incidents; the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, awarded $30,000 to support annual mental-health wellness check-ins for law enforcement personnel; Unified Community Services, awarded $18,000 to continue evidence-based harm reduction, overdose prevention, transitional housing, and treatment services; and the Iowa County District Attorney’s Office, awarded $37,500 to expand Treatment Court programming, re-establish OWI Court, strengthen testing protocols, and develop new diversion pathways.

Iowa County is currently accepting September 2026 Opioid Settlement Grant applications. Community organizations, schools, public safety agencies, and service providers working in prevention, treatment, recovery, harm reduction, or community wellness are encouraged to apply.
