Bullets advance with close win over Knights

Blanchardville held on to down the Dodgeville Knights 4-1 Sunday and advance in the post season Western Section play-offs.

The Bullets will travel to Pine Bluff/Mount Horeb Sunday with the winner advancing to the final eight team play-offs.

The Bullets got on the board in the first inning on Kyle Kleppe’ssacrifice fly.

A single by Tyler Mckeon extended the Bullets lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning by plating a pair of runs.

Hunter Enloe earned the win for the Bullets. He surrendered four hits and one run over eight innings, striking out seven and walking three. Dakota Doescher came on to finish and earned the save.

Jordan Stanton took the loss for Dodgeville. The starting pitcher went eight innings, allowing four runs on seven hits, striking out three and walking none. He went through the lineup with 79 pitches.

Mckeon led the Bullets with two runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The shortstop went 2-for-3 with a double. on the day. Drew Nafzger also collected two hits. Tanner Simmons and Brooks Chandler both doubled and AJ Hendrickson had a bunt single.Grant Roh went 1-for-3 with a double and had the lone rbi. with one run for the Knights.

Leyton Bowers had two hits in three at bats. Sean Reilly and Brock Henkel both had a single for the Knights.
