After ten years of dedicated leadership, the Mineral Point Excellence in Education Foundation is entering an exciting new chapter. Longtime Board Chair Kristin Mitchell is passing the leadership of the Foundation to Henry Whitehead, who will guide the organization into its next phase of supporting innovative educational opportunities for Mineral Point students.
During Mitchell’s tenure, the Foundation has partnered with generous donors, dedicated educators, and engaged community members to fund creative classroom projects, meaningful learning experiences, and initiatives that enrich education beyond what the school budget alone can provide.
Whitehead brings both professional expertise and a deep commitment to rural education. As Program Manager for Rural Schools Collaborative, he works to strengthen rural schools by building partnerships and connecting educators with valuable resources and opportunities. Since moving to Mineral Point with his wife, Taylor, and daughter, Emerson, he has become actively involved in the community and is well positioned to lead the Foundation into the future.
Leadership transitions create opportunities for fresh ideas while building on a strong foundation. With Whitehead at the helm, the Foundation remains committed to supporting innovative educational opportunities that benefit Mineral Point students and educators for years to come.
The Foundation also welcomes new board members who are passionate about education and the future of the community and its schools. Individuals interested in serving on the Board of Directors or learning more about the organization’s work are encouraged to contact Henry Whitehead at henryqwhitehead@gmail.com or Sarah Roberts at sarah@cfsw.com.
The Mineral Point Excellence in Education Foundation extends its sincere appreciation to Kristin Mitchell for a decade of dedicated leadership and service, while welcoming Henry Whitehead as the Foundation’s next Board Chair.
