The Knights scored early and carried a 2-0 lead into the seventh before the Rockies took control and went on to a 5-2 win in the Western Section finale Sunday.
A fielder’s choice by Justin Bachler put the Knights on the board in the top of the first.
The Knights got a run in the top of the sixth on a solo home run to center field by Sean Reilly on an 0-2 count.
Hollandale took the lead, 4-2, in the bottom of the seventh thanks to singles by Kyle Thompson, Trey Gordon, and Chase Ignatius.
Austin Fahey earned the win for Hollandale allowing five hits and one run over five and twothirds innings, striking out five and walking two.
Dom McVay took the loss for Dodgeville. The right-handed pitcher went seven innings, surrendering four runs on seven hits, striking out eight and walking two.
Thompson came on to finish the game for the Rockies and Bowers pitched two innings in relief for the Knights.
Grant Roh and Leyton Bowers each managed two hits for the Knights. Reilly and Baehler each drove in one run.
Carson Opgenorth and Baehler had the other two Knights hits.
The Rockies hits came from Ames and Ignatius with two each along with one each from Thompson, Jared Rear, Jackson Wendler and Trey Gordon.
Thompson led Hollandale with two runs batted in. The shortstop went 1-for-4 on the day. Tanler Ames and Ignatius each collected two hits for Hollandale.
The Knights welcome the Arena Aces tonight (Thursday) for their final regular season Night League game. Sunday they take their sixth seed to three seed Blanchardville. Arena travels to Belleville in a clash between #5 and #4.
