LINDEN – Milton Lee Zimmerman, age 84, passed away on Thursday July 23, 2026, at Sienna Crest in Mineral Point, WI. He was born on June 18, 1942, in Davenport, IA, to Fritz and Siri Zimmerman.
After graduating high school in Mechanicsville, IA, Milt worked for Nelson Brothers and stared his own construction company, MZ Construction, which is in its third generation of family ownership. On May 18, 1963, he married Rita Kay Iverson, and they spent 63 years together.
Milt enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was known to enjoy a brandy old-fashioned sweet at the local taverns with friends and family. As a young boy, Milt spent many hours training his horse, Sandy. When his kids were young, they would often spend weekends playing football in the backyard. If someone stopped by Milt and Rita’s house to visit, they’d find themselves sitting around the kitchen table discussing politics or the Green Bay Packers.
Milt is survived by his wife, Rita, children: Dori Zimmerman (Jim Tibbets), Gregory (Laurie) Zimmerman, Stacy Zimmerman (Daniel Henne), and Curtis (Katherine) Zimmerman, and his grandchildren: Oliver, Abbie, Lance, Lucas, Casandra, Mars, Mya, Brittanie, Heather, and Megan. He is further survived by his siblings: Noreen, June, Clifford, Christy, Siri, and Gina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fritz and Siri, sisters Shelley and Denise, and his grandson, Zach.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, at the funeral home. For online condolences, please visit: www.larsonfuneralhomes.com
