Dear Editor,
Pattern Energy: Is there any chance you could convert the Uplands Wind project to an Uplands Solar project? Pattern Energy could keep its project, the landowners could keep their contracts, Madison could keep its commitment to clean energy, the DNR could keep its commitment to endangered and threatened species, the fragile karst topography of the Driftless could remain unfractured, and WE could keep our clean groundwater, our health, and the rural character of our communities
that we thought we had control over. Madison: If you must impose the machinery of the clean energy industry on rural Wisconsin without the input or consent of even county-level governance, can’t you at least choose the option that does NOT kill our wildlife, threaten our groundwater, produce noise and light pollution, raise the possibility of infrasound health effects, and otherwise irrevocably alter the Dairyland and the Driftless?
