No football co-op for IG and Highland yet

The IG Board has not yet approved a co-op for football with Highland District Administrator Michael Shimshak said this week.

The board is surveying district residents and are waiting for survey results. They plan to discuss further at their August meeting.

Shimshak said if approved the earliest a co-op could happen would be the 2028 season per WIAA. It was reported that Hayden Link, IG coach addressed the board about the potential co-op but it was Jake Reuter who spoke at the meeting.

The IG board had approved a previous request from Highland to coop but the Cardinals elected to go to eight person instead, rendering the action moot.
