George C. Green of Belmont passed peacefully at home on Friday, June 26th at the age of 74. His last days were spent the same as many of his days: surrounded by his family and friends. George was originally from Mechanicsburg, PA, and moved to create a life in Wisconsin 30 years ago. He was the guy who cut a barn in half in Darlington to make a home for himself, his beloved dogs, and later, his family.
George was everything from a Merchant Marine in his youth to a tractor-trailer driver, a heavy machine operator, and a skilled mechanic for the majority of his life. He came from a large family, the second oldest of eight, and had great friendships, some spanning more than 50 years. George had a lot of charisma, could fix anything, and loved dogs, fast cars, and giving people a hard time.
He was a loving husband to Edna; father to Kelly (Matt); Tito to Diannelle (Adam); brother to Greg (Linda), Kim (Pami), Pam (Denny), Chris (Cay), Joie (Jim), Jean (Greg), and Gaynor; and an uncle and great-uncle to many.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later time for both Belmont, WI, and Mechanicsburg, PA.
