Iowa-Grant hammered out thirteen hits, scoring ten runs in the second inning to help lead the Panthers past Riverdale Tuesday afternoon in Cobb 13-2.
Presley Lehman hit a two-run homer which was followed by an Emory Riemenapp two-run homer for a 4-0 lead. Then, with two outs, the Panthers scored six more runs.
After a single and two consecutive Riverdale errors loaded the bases, Carley Shores connected on a double clearing the bases making the score 7-0.
After Presley Lehman walked, Trinity Baker doubled to score Shores. Riemenapp then batted again, this time hitting a single scoring Lehman and Shores and a comfortable 10-0 lead.
Riverdale avoided the shutout by scoring in the top of the third and fifth inning. The Panthers scored a run in the third and two more runs in the fourth to secure the victory.
Iowa-Grant is now 18-6 for the season and is now headed to the WIAA Regional competition. Iowa-Grant is the #2 seed and will host #7 Luther on Tuesday, May 26th with first pitch scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
