Ella Hilebrand and Kyllie Smith had the only two hits the Blackhawks could manage as Lancaster beat River Valley 6-2 in a SWC game Friday.
Smith’s single in the top of the second gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead.
Lancaster took control when they scored six runs on four hits to take the lead, 6-1 in the sixth.
Ashlyn Stokes took the loss for River Valley. She went six innings, giving up six runs (five earned) on five hits, striking out five and walking three.
Lola Greene and Smith each drove a run. Greene’s grounder scored Alyssa Nachreiner who reached on a walk.
