Good teams find a way to come back and Saturday Dodgeville was a good team when they took on Janesville Parker in a non-conference twinbill.
The Dodgers rallied to top the Janesville Parker Varsity Vikings 8-6 on Saturday at Wilson Park. It was a huge win as the Dodgers trailed by as many as four runs,
The Vikings opened the scoring in the top of the first on two steals of home.
A single by Mayce Martin extended the Janesville Parker lead to 4-0 in the top of the second inning.
The Dodgers took the lead, 5-4, in the bottom of the second thanks to home runs by Brielle Walmer, and Mikayla Lathrop.
Alana Bradley homered to left field, driving in three runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Lathrop earned the win for the Dodgers allowing seven hits and six runs (four earned) over seven innings, striking out 13 and walking three.
Lathrop, Walmer, and Addison Reilly each had two hits. Lathrop and Bradley each drove in three runs for the Dodgers. Emma Dougherty also added a hit.
Parker got their revenge with a win in the second game as they outlasted the Dodgers 9-7.
The Dodgers outhit the Vikings 11- 9. Lathrop, Bradley and Bree Wunnicke all had two hits. Other hits came from Addison Reilly, Dougherty and Skylar Quinn. Lathrop homered and doubled. Also homering was Wunnicke and Quinn had a double.
A seven run third paved the way or the Vikings win. They added a run in the second and another in the sixth. The Dodgers responded with a run in the second, two in the third and three in the fourth.
Kendra Brom worked the first six frames in the circle with Lathrop tossing the seventh. Brom struck out five and Lathrop two.
