River Valley takes care of Prairie in SWC test

River Valley picked up a signature SWC win Thursday when they took down Prairie du Chien 6-4.

River Valley took the lead after Drew Riedel walked, Keagan Heiser hit a sacrifice fly, and Jayden Gauger singled down the right field line, each knocking in a run.

Prairie du Chien made the score 4- 3 in the top of the third after an error scored two runs, a single scored one more.

Keagan Carpenter singled down the left field line, which allowed RV to tie the game at four in the bottom of the third.

River Valley took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Quincy Blakley hit a sacrifice fly to give the Blackhawks the advantage, 5-4.

Blakley pitched four innings in relief for River Valley. He allowed three hits and no runs while striking out two and walking one.

Heiser got the start and surrendered four hits and four runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking one.

Keagan Heiser, Jordan Gauger, Keagan Carpenter, Jayden Gauger, Uriah S, and Jackson Thatcher each garnered one hit for River Valley. Heiser, Carpenter, Blakley, Drew Riedel, and Jayden Gauger each drove in one run for the Blackhawks.
