Cardinals compete at Riverdale tourney

Lancaster totaled 21 hits and handed Highland a 19-4 loss in the opening game of the Riverdale tourney Saturday.

Jack Tarrell doubled and drove in a trio of runs for the Cardinals. Kaden Washa and Griffin Wineski both had two hits with Lily Tarrell, Trapper Hoffman and Koyier Zadrazil each getting one.

Washa and Tarrell both went two innings on the mound with Hoffman going one.

VS RIVERDALE

The Cardinals made a run in the top of the seventh with three runs but could not catch Riverdale in the second game of the tourney.

The Chieftains held on to handle the Cardinals 8-5.

The Cardinals combed Riverdale’s pitching for eight hits and actually had the edge at the plate, 8-7. Koyier Zadrazil turned in a perfect plate performance with a 3×3 day and Jack Tarrell was 2×5 to lead the Cardinals. Trapper Hoffman was 2×4 and Payton Bach 1×4 to round out the offense for Highland.

Zadrazil drove in three runs with Tarrell and Kaden Washa each plating one.

Zadrazil, Washa and Griffin Wineski all pitched for the Cards. Zadrazil struck out five and Washa one.
