River Valley had four home runs and two doubles among the 15 hits they hammered out in a five inning 20-1 win over Ithaca in a non-conference game Saturday.
Kaden Plumley was a busy Blackhawk, pounding two home runs and pitching three strong innings of relief. He accounted or eight rbis as he went 3×5 at the plate. On the mound he struck out three, walked one and gave up one hit over three scoreless frames.
Quinn Cady started and pitched the first two innings. He gave up the lone Bulldogs run on two hits. He struck out two and did not walk a batter.
After a two run first River Valley scored five runs on three hits in the top of the second inning. Quincy Blakley drew a walk driving in a run, Plumley singled, scoring two runs, and Keagan Heiser singled, scoring two runs.
A single by Jordan Gauger extended the Blackhawks lead to 8-1 in the top of the third inning.
River Valley added to their lead with nine runs in the top of the fourth inning keyed by two home runs by Plumley and blasts from Heiser and Keagan Carpenter.
River Valley got three hits from Plumley and Blakley along with two hits from Jordan Gauger, Heiser and Uriah S. Getting one hit were Drew Riedel, Austen Carstenson and Heiser.
