Lathrop sets down 13 to key Dodger win

Mikayla Lathrop struck out 13 as Dodgeville rolled to a 6-1 victory over Prairie du Chien on Friday.

Lathrop allowed three hits and one run over seven innings while walking three.

The Dodgers opened scoring in the bottom of the first inning with two runs. Alana Bradley doubled, scoring one run, and Bri Walmer singled, scoring another run.

The Dodgers scored two runs in the bottom of the second on a home run to left field by Emma Dougherty .

Prairie du Chien scored one run in the top of the third on a solo home run to left field by Clare Kennedy. Kennedy did the work in the circle for the Blackhawks and took the loss. Dougherty led the Dodgers with two runs batted in as she went 2-for- 4. Lathrop, Bradley, and Dougherty each collected two hits.

Other Dodgers hits came from Addison Reilly, Walmer and Tia Crubaugh.
